Sweet Outfit: 30/09/08

I'm back for Japan and with a bunch of my basics in the wash I've got to be creative. I'm wearing a denim playsuit I havent worn since January.

Free Fuison @ Target Denim Playsuit
Cotton On purple singlet tank
Equip Silver Stud Earrings
Girl Express @ Kmart Mary Jane Heels
White bag from Harajuku Markets

I'm Back... Not for Long Though

I landed back home in Australia yesterday morning just before 7am. I've been home to sleep, share stories with my mum and ring a close friend but that's about all I'll be doing until Sydney as I am leaving in a couple of days. I hope you enjoyed my posts while I was in Japan. JAPAN was amazing. I went to Namba (one of the biggest shopping districts in Japan) and bought some shoes. I also went to Harajuku where I bought a bag.

Weekly Top 5: 29/09/08

This week's top five seems to have a summer feel to it. I am so excited for Summer!

Straw hats are going to be huge! Gold and white are this season's must-haves as are a pair of gladiator sandals, whether they be heels or flats.

Spring's Beauty Bag

Want Miranda Kerr's spring glow this season?
Why not try the bronze goddess look this Spring?

To get this look I would suggest some mineral foundation in an urban colour such as almond or hazel, they will give you healthy colour, (mineral makeup uses no chemicals) and a bronze glow.

Add to your new glow a lipstick in a soft coral colour such as peach or watermelon. This will enhance your lips as well as your godess-like glow. Your eyes should be shaded with a colour which is a little darker than your foundation and a little kohl black or dark brown eyeliner can be used to bring out your eyes. Remember spring/summer is not about overdoing the eye makeup, so stick with neutral colours.

Recovering Wishlists

After Sunday's post I was asked this Question:

"How many of the things you put on your wishlist do you actually get?"

Well to be totally honest more than half of them. I'll just do a quick scan of what I've bought, what I havent, and why I havent bought some of them.

My first Fashion's Sweethart wishlist had four items on it. I never got the white heels, which I am still in love with. I still have them in the back of my mind to look for every time I go shopping. It seems that as soon as I decided I wanted a pair they had left stores. The laptop is still coming. My parents are going to get me a new one for Graduation. ♥ The bangles were bought the day after the wishlist was posted and the heels were bought soon after.

The Second wishlist had two items on it. I bought the dress but decided I didn't want the skirt afterall (too short).

My third list had three items from Dotti on it. The shirt and chambray ra ra skirt are both sitting in my wardrobe. The floral ra ra skirts went like hot cakes and I arrived at the store with only biggest sizes available.

Weekly Top 5: 15/09/08

I'm in love with check shirts and shirt dresses at the moment. So much so that I went out and bought a checked shirt (in green) and a shirt dress (in brown/gold) from Dotti last week. I'm taking them to wear in Japan. Flannel seems to have left our stores but check still remains.

Everything metallic is in at the moment, like these gold hoops and this gold clutch purse. I can just picture you walking into the club with metallic heels and hoop earrings.

This tailored shorts will be perfect for summer but you can still wear them in Spring. The ribbon adds a feminine touch to the pieces and the fabric is just made for bohemian.

Wishlist 14/09/08

Yes a wishlist is a bit of a birthday or christmas thing but I like to do one every so often anyway. At the moment I'm in love with floral bangles and chunky rings to continue with my Bohemian faze. I'm going shopping on Tuesday so I'm going to look for a chunky bangle in Diva.

I've got a few pairs of sandals but no brown ones, so before summer hits I'm going to have to buy a pair of brown gladiator flats. They're everywhere at the moment so I'm pretty sure it wont be difficult.

A cropped Jacket will be the best for warm days, when i need to cover up from the burning sun. I'm going to try to get one before i go to japan so that i can wear it over there. I only have a yellow bolero and black cropped hoodie at the moment. I think ill get a cropped corp. jacket.

Last summer I wanted an embroidered shirt, like the pink one below, but never got one, so i've got to get one this summer to satisfy my hunger.

Antique Madness

I seem to be going through an antique faze where, to say the least, I'm in love with everything antique, especially furniture. I want a victorian style home with high ceilings like the old one I used to live in, with a chandelier and skim board craft. Oh what fun! We care to remember and dream to leave in a victorian style home with victorian furniture.

Sweet Outfit: mix it up 08-09 Sept

Some say you should never wear the same outfit twice. Others say its all in the accesories. I say mixing and matching accesories and hairstyles can change your outfit dramatically.

Yesterday I finished school at 12:30, so I got changed an did a spot of shopping (in the outfit far left). I wore a pair of black Diva Stud earrings, a green Dotti ruffle tee, my dotti chambray aline skirt and my pair of metallic ballet flats from Hot Options @ Target. I also wore my Gold heart Pendant from city beach and my hair in a side ponytail.

Last night, after shopping, I went home to have dinner before a meeting at school. I changed my shoes to my Swatch Wedges and my earrings to gold hoops, adding my beige cardi to the mix as well as wearing my hair out. I also wore a group of green and gold bangles from equip on one wrist with a wooden bangle from diva on my other.

This morning, seeing as I only wore my skirt and top combo for a few hours I decided to wear them again, something I don't usually do. Amazingly I have been able to change this outfit again simply buy accesorising. I've put my hair up and gotten rid of the wooden bangle. Changed my heart pendant to my new diva crystal stalk. I changed my earrings to a pair of white studs from equip and im wearing a pair of black thongs from Girl Xpress @ Kmart.

So mixing and matching for Japan? I think I'm ready!

JAPAN PACKING STEP 002: My List

* A pair or two of sturdy jeans
* cute skirts: aline or rara in dark colours
* summer dresses & little boleros
* A decent pair of ballet flats
* Tank tops and singlets to help layer
* sleeved overlay shirts
* a denim waistcoat
* canvas flats for walking
* a cute umbrella
* hair brush + dryer + moisturiser
* shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, etc.
* makeup. only basics!
* some bohemian inspired jewelry
* money
* a cute handbag
* european adaptor
* documents and shiz
* a big smile
* enthusiastic attitude

So thats pretty much my list, it's going to be so much fun. I find it saddening that I can't take my gladiator heels or sandals as they won't allowed open toed shoes or heels. Quite disturbing really. But it's a challenge and I'm good with that, just give me a floral dress and some oversized sunnies and I'm good to go.

"Kiss me I'm french"

This is just a tossed together account of some items that remind me of Paris,
oh what a wonderful land we live in *sighs*.
Enjoy.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: 04/06/08

"Today, fashion is really about sensuality—how a woman feels on the inside. In the '80s women used suits with exaggerated shoulders and waists to make a strong impression. Women are now more comfortable with themselves and their bodies—they no longer feel the need to hide behind their clothes.”

- Donna Karan

Packing for Japan Step #001: their list

So it's finally come, i am about to embark on a trip to Japan (in two weeks). What on earth am i going to pack? This topic has come up the past couple of weeks, in conversations amongst my friends and I. They aren't worrying about it just yet, but being the worried & organised person i am, im going to start planning now.

I wrote an article in July on what to pack when heading overseas for summer vacation. Only problem is they have given us a list. Don't you just love it when they give you a list of things you need and things you should not bring? Yay. what energy. what excitement. what individualism.

well when you think about it, a list can be a good thing, a challenge to tackle with the wardrobe as your way of tackling it, and a credit card handy possibly. So what does this great list have on it you may ask.

The contents of the list are as follows...

* Clothing to suit a variety of temperatures
* Smart casual clothing for homestay
* Dress school uniform for school attendance
* Light informal clothes for traveling
* Windcheater or light jacket in case of a cool change
* Jeans / shorts / slacks / skirts
* T shirts / shirts / blouses
* Comfortable shoes
* Hat
* Sunglasses
* Sunscreen
* Underwear
* Pyjamas
* Umbrella
* Hair Dryer (adaptor required)
* Personal toiletries
* Personal medical requirements
* any Prescription drugs
* Camera & film
* Pocket calculator
* Pen, stationery, exercise book
* Bi-lingual dictionary
* Reading materia;
* Smart travel games / cards
* Gift for homestay family
* Backpack, bumbag / money belt (optional)
* Travel Documents
* Watch

PLEASE NOTE: 20 kilo limit on luggage plus 5 kilos for hand luggage

They have also dis-allowed high heels and we have to wear sleeves majority of the time.
