HAPPY 6 MONTHS EVERYONE!!!!

Over the past six months "Fashion's Sweethart" has been providing young adults throughout the world, including the United States of America, Australia and Malaysia, with fashion and personal advice. I, Clairzy, have been running this blog since the 24th of May 2008. The website began as a result of inspiration spawn from blogs such as Gala Darling and Sea of Shoes. Two fabulous blogs in their own right.

Throughout the past six months I have commented on the raging trends, upcoming fashion labels, other bloggist's work and of course some of the hottest fashionistas of our time, including Kate Moss and Katy Perry.

So what's next for Fashion's Sweethart? Well, to begin with, I'd like to fix up the header, which has been present since July, as well as the art content. I'd like to showcase some more upcoming designers and report on fashion shows. I would like to shed light on jobs in the fashion industry, on how life really is like for fashion editors and such. Why they choose such trends to show in their magazines.

I hope that someone will see these blog and realise my vision, my passion for this art. I would like to do more freelance work, so if you have any avalible, preferably paid work, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for the first six months. I hope you'll stay with me for the next six.
Love Clairzy

Weekly Rambles #017: 21/11/08

I graduate today! It's so exciting and I don't have much time for this weekly Ramble, so it will be a little shorter than usual.

I recently updated my inspiration board with some gorgeous photo from Loveology. It's a blog that shows off pretty feminine photographs and poetry. It's a great must for procrastination.

Another great website for photography is ffffound.com. It a place where everything to find is found. It's brilliant.

Diary of a brazilian girl in a Copenhagen suburb is full of reviews on fashion around the globe. It's a must-read. She reviews Korean fashion like it's the most popular thing ever. A premonition perhaps?

Want daily corporate inspiration? Head to The Clothes Horse. This girl has had 21,396 hits in the past year so she must be doing something right.

Well that's it from me today. Have a fabulous week. If you're heading the schoolies be safe, there's nothing worse then bringing your parents home a grandchild or a mug shot. Have fun but be safe.

Fin.♥

BOHEMIAN review "fashion awards 08"

I'm quite a fan of Bohemian fashion so it was no suprise to me that you have sworn it in as your favourite trend this season. Here are two quotes that, I believe, sum up the bohemian style...

" "This Bohemian Chic look is achieved by piling on lots of interesting layers. Look for texture, color, length, volume and pattern when choosing your layers. And, this look benefits from lots of lovely accessories, so bust out the bracelets, necklaces and belts and go for great style. The most common pieces worn to achieve the Bohemian Chic look are prairie skirts, broom skirts, peasant skirts, peasant tops, tunics, and sandals." Michelle Kouzmine " (Bohemian Chic Post)

"Bohemian chic is all about combining vintage pieces, which hold memories and giving them new life so they can carry on building memories. By simply flinging a throw or scarf over an old leather couch you will give it pizazz and rejuvenate it. By keeping the style clean and adding hip-undertone pieces, you will give the room a lift." (Celeste Yates)

Weekly Rambles #016: 14/11/08

I don't have much in the way of links this week. Just three very readable blogs. Is readable even a word? Haha I just looked it up at Dictionary.com.

4 dictionary results for: readable
[ree-duh-buhl]

–adjective
1. easy or interesting to read.
2. capable of being read; legible: readable handwriting.
3. pertaining to letter mail with addresses and zip codes capable of being read by optical scanning devices.

I love that this has truly become a weekly ramble. As for the links I have for you here they are...

The Fashionable Life
Intelligence is the New Black
Fashion Pirates

...each of these is very READABLE in their own right. My personal favourite is "The Fashionable Life". It's truly spectacular.

girl smoking

I'm just going to take this moment to tell you all I am TOTALLY against smoking. Girls it is not sexy! It is not cool! It is not fun! It's dumb! The second you light up your telling the world you don't care about yourself! You're telling them that you don't appreciate life, you're taking it all for granted.

This topic has made me suddenly want to ramble on about the things I am grateful for. So in the mist of a world of sadness, war, sickness and poverty I shall write the list, of those things I love.

My puppy Mia - She is the most adorable puppy that ever lived. She's a maltese X Shitzhu X Pomeranian. She's five years old and about five kilos. She's compact but she makes up for it with her loud voice. She has conversations with me. Reminds me of a little baby who's speaking gibberish actually. You just smile and nod while she winges.

Air Conditioning - It's sooo hot at the moment. Air Conditioning is fast becoming my best friend!

Baz Lurhmann - His films are genius!!! I can't wait to watch Australia! It's coming out Thursday Week in Brisbane!

My Best Friends - My group of friends are amazing! We are graduating next week! I am so happy they have been with me on this journey. They are truly the best friends a girl could have.

My Job - I OFFICALLY start working at Diva this week! It's awesome! I love the vibe there, the people, the music, the product! It's a great workplace. I've only been to meetings so far but I'll be selling this week! hehe

Maltesers - I can not describe how much I love these chocolates! They are heaven in a bag! I love crispy chocolate. Is it not the best kind?

New Beginnings - University is going to be a great adventure. I can't wait for my first sales shift with Diva.

Trips Away - In the next month I am going away for Schoolies Week as well as spending a week with my family in a gorgeous Apartment up north. Next year I'm planning on going to Vanuatu with my mum. I love exploring new places. I love hotel rooms and apartments, they are such a getaway!

My Swimming Pool - It's come in handy the past week as it's been sooooo hot! I love dangling my feet in and the sudden burst of cold water when you first get in.

Well. I'll leave you with that for today. It's become an awfully BIG weekly rambles session!

Sweet Outfit: 13/11/08

This morning I had my VERY LAST senior exam ever!!! It was philosophy and reasoning and it was fairly easy. Only one hour in an exam room then I was ready to party.

My friend Louisa and I took a trip to a little street called "stones corner" to check out the boutiques. They were fabulous but I willed myself not to purchase, at least not for today.

Then we headed to the parkland capital of Brisbane "SOUTHBANK". It was fabulous! Chips and Slurpies on a big grassy hill overlooking the city. We filled up on Jelly Beans and Chips and then pranced around the parklands dancing to Abba!

So this is what I wore:

- Jeans West Shift Dress
- Voodoo Black Opaque stocking
- Gold necklace from City Beach
- Gold hooped earrings from Diva
- (absent) Japanese heels

Graduation's Soul

Hey Everyone,

I was recently asked to sum up my Graduation (next Friday) with songs. These two came to mind straight away. I know they may not have been written for that purpose but they speak to me. Sorry for the bad visuals but I just wanted to have the audio for you to listen to as well as the lyrics.

On Our Way by Christina Aguilera

Me and you, we're different
Don't always see eye to eye
You go left, and I go right
And sometimes when we even fight
That don't mean that I won't need a friend, oh
You and me, we're in this 'til the end, oh
I think we're on our our way
Through all the lows and highs
I need you by my side, singing
I think we're on our way
To better days, better days, oh
Let's say we turn the page
Move on from all the times
Should've laughed, not cried, feeling
What is there more to say? (say)
I think that we're on our way
Together, we'll weather
Many storms as family
That bond is forever
It can take almost anything
The love I feel for you grows everyday, yeah
The more we get to learn from our mistakes, yeah yeah
I think we're on our our way
Through all the lows and highs
I need you by my side, singing
I think we're on our way
To better days, better days, oh
Let's say we turn the page
Move on from all the times
Should've laughed, not cried, feeling (ooh)
What is there more to say? (say, yeah yeah)
I think that we are on our way
Someday, soon, I'll need advice
Hope you're there to shed some light
And maybe one day, you'll be wanting mine
And we can (we can) be there be for each other
I think we're on our way
I think we're on our way (ha)
I think we're on our way
Let's say we turn the page
Move on from all the times
Should've laughed, not cried
What is there more to say? (ooh)
I think that we're on our way
I think we're on our way
Through all the highs and lows
I need you by my side, yeah
I think we're on our way
To better days, better days, yeah
Let's say we turn the page
Move on from all the times
Should've laughed, not cried
What is there more to say? (no more to say)
I think that we are on our way
Yeah.
Ohh.
No more to say.
No more to say. Yeah.
No more to say. Ha.

Unity by Kelly Rowland

Picking up the pieces
Of a life that I once knew
What will tomorrow bring
Gray skies all around me
I don't know where to turn
Can you help me with this pain

A shooting star
A ray of light
A breeze that calms me in the night
I got your message yesterday
I feel you here
I wish that you could

Stay with me
Two hearts forever
You were the spark that lit the flame
Only if you'd

Stay with me
This love's forever
And in my heart you will remain
Until we meet again

Sitting in the cold room
Waiting for the sun
Will it ever shine again
Pictures frames
The better days
Are swirling in my head
Will I ever find a way

A shooting star
A ray of light
A breeze that calms me in the night
I got your message yesterday
I feel you here
I wish that you could

Stay with me
Two hearts forever
You were the spark that lit the flame
Only if you'd

Stay with me
This love's forever
And in my heart you will remain
Until we meet again

I got your message yesterday
I feel you here
I wish that you could

Stay with me
Two hearts forever
You were the spark that lit the flame
Only if you'd

Stay with me
This love's forever
And in my heart you will remain
Until we meet again

You've gotta slow down
Just slow down
You've gotta slow down
Just slow down

Weekly Inspiration: 12/11/08

This week I'd like to give a special mention to Anastasia Nikolaevna, the youngest daughter of the last Tsar of Russia. She was murdered along with her mother, father, three elder sisters and younger brother on July 17 1918 by forces of the Bolshevik secret police. This photograph (below) is the last known photograph of the seventeen year old. She was my age when she died this horrific death with her loved ones. This family showed great courage when no one else had any to stand up for them. May they rest in peace.

CHANEL! review "fashion awards 08"

In honour of Chanel winning "Best Overseas Brand" in the "Fashion's Sweethart 2008 Awards" here is a quick review of the brand's history.

The designer label Chanel was founded in 1909 by fabulous designer Coco Chanel, who nurtured the brand until her death in 1971, aged 87. Chanel always kept the clothing she designed simple. Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was a Leo, how cool is that? The same star sign as myself!

Coco began selling hats in a shop in her apartment building. Arthur Capel became her business partner by 1910 and helped her open another store to get more sales. Coco then began selling clothing such as blazers and skirts (think flapper style) during the First World War.

Parfums Chanel was founded in 1924 by Pierre Wertheimer and Coco. It sold beauty products and perfumes, such as "Chanel. No 5". The chanel perfume "Chanel No.5" has been advertised using spokewomen such as Marilyn Monroe and Nicole Kidman. During the Nazi's time in France (1930's-1950's) Chanel didn't make much money, but sales boosted from the 1950's to early 1970's. Business was good.

In February 1955 Chanel's most popular item was introduced to the public. The Chanel Quilted Leather Handbag (also known as the Chanel 2.55). Jacques Wertheimer (son of Pierre) bought Chanel after when Coco died in 1971, although it had originally been left to Yvonne Dudel, Jean Cazaubon and Philippe Guibourge. This only lasted three years however as his son Alain took over in 1974, and asked Karl Lagerfeld to leave Chloe so he could design for Chanel.

Lagerfeld took over in 1983 as Chief Designer and has been this ever since. During the 80's he opened more than 40 stores worldwide, including Australia. Today there are more than 200 stores worldwide. I was lucky enough to visit the Sydney one in early October this year. Two levels of pure genius. One of my friends was suprised to hear it had more security than Tiffany & Co. in Brisbane.

I love the fact that two of my favourite actresses have starred in Chanel ads.

This is the best advertisement ever! It stars Nicole Kidman and was directed by none other than Baz Lurhmann. Can't you see the Moulin Rouge touch? It's amazing!

My amazing Keira!!! This is her ad for the perfume designed in memory of Coco Chanel.

♥♥♥

These are some other Videos, by other actresses. If you have a spare moment why not watch?

The original with Marilyn Monroe! It's so funny.

Sweet Outfit: 08/11/08

Today is the sixth day of Gala Darling's wardrobe taming program. These two shirts were from my pile of unworn clothing. I think they really compliment one another and they are for keeps, surely.

So today I went out for a cold drink at McCafe, did some reading and some study for my mathematics exam on Monday. I plan to have a carefree day browsing the net for inspiration for my next song, which kind of brings the diva out in me. Hehe. I love this guitar. It was my mum's and she gave it to me a couple of years ago. I learnt a little, but I'm not very good and it's recently been handed over to my brother who is making quite a hobby out of it. I miss my music roots. I used to love music, singing, dancing, piano and writing songs. It's something that I haven't done in a while so I gave myself the task of writing another song, after about a 3 month dry spell. Well, let's get to work on this (hopefully) masterpiece. Pen in hand, guitar by my side, thoughts pounding. Let's write this baby.

I'm wearing...
- Cotton On Black Shorts
- Jay Jays Black Shirred Tee
- Cotton On Purple buttoned Tee (as bolero)
- Diva Bangle
- Portmans flats
- Black Bag from Strandbags

Weekly Rambles #015: 07/11/08

Good Morning Sweetharts,

This week I have a bunch of links I have stumbled across over the past few days or so. They range from blogs, to chainstore websites, to photography websites. Have fun browsing.

My new favourite blog is The Cherry Blossom Girl.
She is so adorable! Parisian Teenagers are so fashionable!

Omg I stumbled across a real cartoon. Well she dresses like one.
They call her Strawberry Kitten and with her eccentric style she's sure to make your day.

Fashion Toast is a marvellous blog that brings about the fashionista inside everyone. It's full of gorgeous spreads from magazines and commentary on the latest fashion spies.

My favourite photographer at the moment is defintely Marc Williams. He does wedding photography better than anyone else in his field! Shriek of excitement. I'm hiring him to do my wedding. Now all I have to do is find a groom. haha.

As always I'm in love with chain store websites,
such as So Dotti, Ally X, Bardot and Portmans

I recently came across a blog dedicated to help young writers and poets out with tip and trick of the trade.
Head to One Night Stanzas for more information.

There's a new bloggist on the scene. She's only just started her blog in the past month but it's already looking like the next big thing. Head to Amy's blog Shades of Black to support new talent.

Head to the marie claire's website for Anne Hathaway's photo shoot. She would have to be one of the most amazing women of her generation.

Marie Claire also has the most adorable first photo's of Gwen Stefani's 2 month old baby Zuma. He is to die for!

The Fish Tank is a blog full of marvellous commentary on the latest shoes, magazine spreads and trends.

Two blogs in need of a mention defintely are The Fashion Smoothie and Bohemian Musings. They are full of love, florals and fun trends.

balloons Pictures, Images and Photos

How cool does this photo look? I want a room full of Balloons!

Polvore.com is still the place to mix and match outfits before deciding what to wear in the morning. I do it all the time. No kidding it is by far the best outfit creating crafty site.

If you still have not bought The Presets new single "Talk Like That" you should go out there is buy it. It is the hottest thing on the Australian chart at the moment.

That's probably about it for this week. Have a fabulous day. Keep the linkage coming my way. clairzy91@hotmail.com is the place to send it.

Summer Makeup at it's Best

This summer is all about colour. Bronze it up with a light bronzer on your face, shoulders and chest area. Try to avoid tanning, and if you can't use it carefully or get someone else to do it for you. Fake Tan hardly ever looks good and sadly orange is not the trend this season. Lip Gloss will be needed for the beach, as well as waterproof mascaras and eyeliners and a good suncream. Red Nailpolish is always in so it's not suprise it's still big this summer. I'd also suggest getting a floral scented perfume for everyday use, such as Marc Jacobs new DAISY.

Sweet Outfit: 06/11/08

Day four of Gala Darling's Wardrobe Taming Program and I'm starting to find some great finds in my "don't wear" pile. These include the skirt from yesterday and this gorgeous dress. It's used to be one of my favourite party frocks but someone got replaced by others. Today I'm dressing it down with a blazer and fedora. This shoot from taken in my small bathroom which I havent shown on this blog yet. I love the tiling in this room, although it is a little cramed in size.

- Green Ruffle Dress from Supre 2006
- Blazer from Capture Design
- Fedora from Jay Jays

Suprisingly Sweet Outfit: 5/11/08

Good Morning Sweetharts,
On Monday I began Gala Darling's Wardrobe Taming Program. She got me to take all the clothes I owned out of their drawers & wardrobes and put them onto the bed to sort. The things I had worn recently or knew I'd wear in Summer went back in my wardobes, as well as the sentimental things like formal dresses. The others were put to the side to look at yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I had to begin to construct outfits out of what I had in my 'dont wear' piles.

Today is my third day on Gala Darling's Wardrobe Taming Program. I made another outfit out of the pile of possible throw aways. Today I decided I want to keep both this cardigan and skirt! They work so well together.

- Pink Cardigan from Free Fusion @ Target 2007
- White tank top from Jay Jays
- Purple skirt from Supre 2005

During my photo shoot it started raining so I got a little wet out on the uncovered area of my back deck but all it did was add to my enthusiasm.

My dog Mia joined in on the fun. She's sleeping now. Being photographed is such hard work!

DOTTI review "Fashion awards"

Dotti, a fabulous brand and the winner of 2008's "Most popular Chain Store" award, is featured in many Australian Magazines every month. These include Cleo, Shop!, Cosmo and Madison. So why is it so big?

"Dotti has grown-up. It all started in 1981 when founders Raymond Levis and Linda Bowen opened the first Dotti store in Sydney's Centrepoint. The Dotti name was inspired by Linda's fabulous mother Dorothy, a true fashion icon, but rumour has it the fabulous shopping strip Via Condotti in Rome may have been it's true origin. Now owned by The Just Group, Dotti has grown into a collection of 66 stores across Australia and New Zealand." Dotti Website

In 2007 it was none other than Peaches Geldolf who was the face of Dotti. This year it's been showcased by young Australian Models who are true to the Dotti ideals.

With 66 stores across Australia and New Zealand it's hard not to own an item from the chain. They have become bigger than Cotton On, Ice Design and Bardot put together. Girls aren't shopping at Myer anymore. Dotti is the place to go to be 'IN'.

To find out more about the brand head to their Website. It has listings of their stores and newest products avaliable.
