Bohemian Chic

So, what's going to be big this Spring? Florals? Check. Patterns? Check. Skirts? Check. Bangles? Check.

I could go on like this all day but instead I have choosen to get to the point. Bohemian Chic is going to be the trend in everyone's wardrobes this Spring. Sure, you're probably thinking, "Florals for spring. Groundbreaking... *sigh*" Miranda. (DWP)

So what is Bohemian? To be honest, I haven't tried it before, but I am planning on doing so with the rest of the fashionistas this spring and summer season.

"Bohemian (or boho) chic isn't just about artfully mixed patterns and textures, or even about cool handmade pieces. It's about looking like you just threw on those pieces as an afterthought of your multi-textured, easy-going and earthy personality. The key is that this look is the opposite of being tidy or precise ‑- there are no rules." Olivia Neko

"The actual term Bohemian is the gypsy phrase for Good Home. The philosophy behind it is to live in harmony with the earth and all life forms. Therefore, bringing in elements of the earth, whether it is plants, ferns or crystals, into the space will assist." Celeste Yates

So layer on the bangles!!! The scarves!!! The feathers!!! So what is the best way to wear Bohemian Chic in Australia, where not everyone wants to wear clashing prints and colours? Head to your local Dotti or Sportsgirl Store for the latest Bohemian pieces.

"This Bohemian Chic look is achieved by piling on lots of interesting layers. Look for texture, color, length, volume and pattern when choosing your layers. And, this look benefits from lots of lovely accessories, so bust out the bracelets, necklaces and belts and go for great style. The most common pieces worn to achieve the Bohemian Chic look are prairie skirts, broom skirts, peasant skirts, peasant tops, tunics, and sandals." Michelle Kouzmine

I suggest that if you would like to read up a little more on where the Bohemian Style has come from, that you read Celeste Yates' article.
