How To: Fashion Photography

Imagine your hair fixed and face painted with powders by popular stylists.
Imagine a devine outfit, pieced together by professional fashion gurus.
Imagine a perfect view that runs on for miles and miles.
Imagine being on a fashion magazine cover.

Okay, so this probably isn't going to happen to you any time soon, but that shouldn't stop you from making your own perfect picture.

5 EASY STEPS TO PRODUCE YOUR OWN FASHION SPREAD:

1. The Theme: What is the theme for your shoot? Base it around a key trend in the fashion industry at the present or the past, or you can predict one for the future if you feel like being creative. Eg. Feminine Florals

2. The Clothes: What is fashion photography without the fashion? Piece together an outfit that represents the theme of your fashion spread. Eg. Rara Skirts, Equestrian Blouses and Floral Dresses

3. The setting: The setting should compliment your pieces by either contrasting or mixing with them. Eg. an old library is dark in contrast to bright florals

4. The Hair & Makeup: Style your makeup to, yes, match your theme. Eg. Wavy Hair and nude makeup will compliment florals

5. The Photographer and Photography equipment: Make sure you have all the equipment you need. Eg. Tripod, Digital Camera, Spare Batterie. You should also make sure you have a photographer avaliable. I'd suggest a friend who is interested in having their own photoshoot. You can take her photos and she can take yours, and why not make a day of it with outfit, makeup, hair and location choices made together?

Have fun. I'd love to see some of your photos. clairzy91@hotmail.com
